BUSINESS CONTINUANCE SOLUTIONS/DISASTER RECOVERY
MHN's business continuance solutions help companies plan for the
unplanned and ensure uninterrupted system availability.
MHN's secure data center facilities offer businesses a "cold" site for
continuing computer and network operations in the event of a disaster.
Each MHN facility has a fully redundant network infrastructure and
environmental systems as well as the following additional features:
- Controlled access- biometrics, proximity card access, video
surveillance
- Immediate back-up monitoring by a Network Operating Center (NOC)
- Office space-with telephone and Ethernet connectivity
- Uninterruptible power system and diesel-powered back-up generator
- Temperature and humidity controls
- Regular testing and maintenance of back-up systems and procedures
- Regular monitoring of emergency weather and news coverage
MONITORING AND MANAGEMENT
MHN's monitoring and management systems perform the following routine
services:
- Monitor for impending disk space shortages and other disk issues in
time to avert application failures
- Check all critical services and optionally restart those that fail
- Check remote computers and important URL addresses to verify network
and Internet availability
- Monitor applications for process failures, excessive resource usage
and other problems
- Identify event log messages of interest
- Detect pagefile shortages and recover space if necessary
- Investigate bottlenecks in CPU, disk I/O, memory to improving
performance
- Identify potential memory leaks, which can degrade performance and
may indicate application problems
- Perform regular file and directory checks to recover wasted disk
space
- Physical security, environmental controls, uninterruptible power
DATA/SYSTEM SECURITY
Your computer systems and data are continually at risk of being
compromised by virus attacks, computer hackers, disgruntled employees and
accidental or natural disasters. MHN offers a multi-layered defense
strategy for mitigating these risks. MHN’s information security solutions
provide you with the necessary tools and security staff for monitoring
your defenses 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
SECURE DATA CENTER FACILITIES
- Biometric (fingerprint access) scanning technology verifies identity
for authorized access into the facility.
- Proximity card access with PIN, in addition to biometric clearance,
is required to enter/exit the facility.
- No open cabinets. All of our steel mesh cabinets are fitted with
combination locks. As a result, no keys can be lost or duplicated.
- Video surveillance cameras are hidden throughout the facility,
monitored by our 24x7 Network Operations Center (NOC); tracks and
records access throughout the facility.
- Strategically placed motion/vibration detection devices alert NOC
personnel of any forced entry.
UNINTERRUPTIBLE POWER
Technology Gateway is engineered with a redundant, uninterruptible
power system and backup generator to deliver seamless power. In the event
of a commercial power failure, our isolated UPS system will provide
immediate backup power until diesel generators take over the load and
continue operation of the center.
- Redundant, uninterruptible power system and diesel powered back-up
generator
- Regular testing and maintenance of back-up systems and procedures
- Redundant HVAC:
Redundant Temperature and humidity controls to maintain the optimal
operating atmosphere. Redundant HVAC system keeps the average
temperature in the Data Center at 70 degrees F (+/- 2), ensuring a
consistent operating atmosphere for your servers. Additional sensors
detect variations in humidity and keep the average humidity at 50%
(+/-3).
Fire Suppression
- Double interlock pre-action dry fire suppression system:
- A minimum of 3 events must occur before discharge: the smoke
detector must be activated, the flame/heat detector must be activated,
and critical temperatures must be reached at a particular sprinkler head
- Integrated with Operations Control Center monitoring system
- Fail-safe alarm system to prevent false discharge
- Hand-held gas fire extinguishers strategically placed throughout the
facility
